Hives are no fun, especially when you are three years old.

So tuesday late afternoon Zach broke out in hives. We've been trying to wait it out like the Dr suggested, but today she made the decision that this is long enough to wait with no results of them clearing up. He's such a trooper though. Itchy and swollen, he's still got his humor and smiles often....even while trying to take a good picture for mommy, he's itching away at his bottom but smiling at the camera. What a cutie. His feet and hands are so swollen they look like big fat sausages. It hurts to walk on his feet, so he's spent most of the few days on the couch watching a plethera of cartoons and when he needs to go to the bathroom or move he yells for me to come carry him. Breaks my heart to see him this way, and makes my skin crawl to look at it also. But all in all, given his situation, he's in pretty good spirits and hopefully in an hour the dr can give him some relief that the benadryl could not. We've been wracking our brains trying to figure out what could have brought them on, and the only conclusion we have come to so far is he had an eye dr appointment (which give me a week and you'll get a blog on the outcome of his actual eye exam.) on tuesday morning where they dialated his eyes. He has a history of allergens to some medicines, so maybe these drops are going to be added to the "do not give me" list.
Itchy bumps are NO fun.

What a trooper, smiling for mommy to take a picture....while scratching his itchy bottom.

All swollen and itchy, cuddled on the couch for some good long days of tv.
One of his happiest places the last few days. The cool baths help the itchies some.
